Tests Required for Graduation Georgia High School Graduation Test www.doe.k12.ga.us/curriculum/testing/ghsgt.asp Students must pass the Georgia High School Graduation Test. A passing score on all sections of the Georgia High School Graduation Test (administered for the first time in the 11th grade) is required for any regular high school diploma. A student's first opportunity to take the high school graduation test will be in the fall of the junior year. In the senior year, students will retake only tests not passed in the junior year. Students must pass the five graduation tests in order to graduate. The Georgia High School Graduation Test contains English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Writing.
www.gwinnett.k12.ga.us/gcps-instruction01.nsf/pages/Testing The Gateway tests are the Gwinnett County Public Schools High School Assessments that all students must pass in order to obtain a diploma from Gwinnett County Public Schools. All students must demonstrate knowledge of the Gwinnett County Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum. Students will be provided a booklet listing each of these AKS by course at the beginning of the school year. Tenth grade students will need to pass the Gwinnett County High School Gateway Assessment over the AKS before earning a diploma. The Gateway Assessment measures students' ability to write effectively about 9th and 10th grade science and 10th grade social studies AKS. The assessment will be administered in the spring of the 10th grade year. Intervention classes will be provided to help students who do not pass this assessment.
