Collins Hill is excited to be able to provide more support for student success during our Advisement and Academic Support period this year which will be approximately 25 minutes each day. The advisement program has been expanded to provide students with an opportunity to make a closer connection with a teacher who will be concerned with their academic success and well-being on campus. The advisement teacher will be delivering organized lessons as least twice a month and making individual contact with students about their academic goals during every three week grading period. Students will also have time during this period to focus on their daily studies. Formal advisement lessons have been tailored to meet the needs of each grade level and will focus on age appropriate challenges students may face during the school year and beyond. Counselors will also be presenting classroom guidance sessions throughout the year. Topics include stress management, career exploration, motivation for academic success, signs of suicide, diversity training, and college admission process.
