Fill the Field

Over the summer, the student volunteer leaders at Collins Hill came up with an idea of how to help hunger. They decided the best way to do this was to join together with the football team, and make this project a community event as well. Fill the Field is a project where students, faculty, and even the community will work together to collect food for our local food shelters.

When entering the Collins Hill football game vs. Mill Creek on October 23 rd, 2009, students and community members can donate canned goods that will go toward a collective food drive for our community. During the week prior to this game, both Collins Hill and Mill Creek students will be collecting canned goods at their respective schools. This project was developed to get both schools involved and to create a miniature competition of who can donate more cans! It is also important to note that for every 15 cans a student donates, they will receive one volunteer hour. And for the record…We not only want to beat Mill Creek on the field, but off as well!!!
